If you went to Kroger, Target or any other store in Dallas yesterday, then you know that the city’s’ first order of business for the new year was the start of the Carryout Bag Ordinance which requires Dallas customers to pay five-cent per single-use bag, paper or plastic. As an effort to help keep Dallas “clean and eco-friendly.” they’ve initiated this ordinance to encourage city residents to use reusable bags to carry groceries, to-go boxes from restaurants and other goods bought at stores. City officials seem pretty serious about this initiative as they’ve spent $4 million dollars (the majority of which I’m sure is OUR tax dollars) “to remove litter from our community to keep it beautiful and thriving.” Meanwhile, kids in South Dallas are sharing out-of-date textbooks and have no computers in their classrooms…but that’s another story. The most wonderful time in Dallas is almost here! That’s right, we’re just a mere 10 days away from smoked turkey legs, petting zoos, Fletcher’s Corn Dogs, car shows and just about anything Texans can throw into a fryer! Friday, September 26, will begin a 24-day stretch of The State Fair of Texas where people from all over the WORLD come to experience this Texas tradition and attempt to grab any type of deal that’ll make their fair funds last! While typically general admission is $17 and $13 for senior citizens and children shorter than 48 inches tall, check out these 10 ways to save more!
Dallas has caught the attention of some of the biggest names and brands in the beauty industry, and they’re bringing their prestigious beauty trade show to the Big D! That’s right, from Sept. 27-28, The Makeup Showwill make its inaugural 2-day pitstop in Dallas, bringing inspiration, education and opportunities for local industry professionals at all levels to network with the elite of the beauty industry.

This three-week event gives Dallas-Fort Worth residents the opportunity to wine and dine at upwards of 130 participating restaurants throughout the region. How typically any of the participating establishments charge roughly $30 to $50 a plate, during restaurant week you can treat yourself to a fabulous prefixed three-course dinner and/or lunch at the outstanding price of either $35 or $45 total. Well, turn that frown upside down because you can still enjoy some scenic pyrotechnics right here in good ole Dallas! Take a scroll through my top three picks where you and your entourage can celebrate America’s independence under a firework-filled sky!
It’s summertime in the Big D! Time to show off those washboard abs that you sacrificed carbs for and ran laps-on laps-on laps around White Rock Lake for months in order to obtain. While Dallas has become home to many public party pools, the spots that aren’t flooded with 30 Thousand Dollar Millionaires are a little harder to find. Never fear, #deliveredbydev has yet again done the hard work for you, and narrowed down the top spots where you can enjoy fun in the sun with the least amount of douche-ness blocking your rays.
