Six BASIC Fall Things That Make Me Not Completely Hate This Season #IMissSummer

To know me is to know that I’m tropical. I was raised in the humidity of New Orleans, LA, I’ve never taken a cold-weather vacation and my mood is definitely less bubbly on days of extreme dismal weather. However, as much as I hate to admit it, there are a few things that come about during the fall months that I can muster up a enough strength to enjoy.

Big Sweaters and Pants with Drawstrings

The older I get the less I enjoy getting dressed, so any season that makes sweatpants suitable for indoor and outdoor attire, I’m all in!

All the Best TV Shows

We’re left at the end of Spring with cliff-hangers and finales of all the best TV shows, and are forced to go through the entire summer before we figure out if someone ACTUALLY died or if Fitz and Olivia are REALLY going to run off to Vermont and make jam! Nevertheless, this depravity makes the Fall that much better!

I’ve never tasted anything more delectable than my mama’s gumbo! I don’t have a care in the world when I’m chowing down on a big bowl of shrimp, cajun sausage, chicken necks, oysters and crab, seasoned to perfection!

Hocus Pocus and All Things Halloween

I don’t care who you are, every man, woman, child and dog knows that Hocus Pocus is the greatest Halloween movie ever made, and is best enjoyed when watched during the 31 Days of Halloween!

Watching Football Merely for the Social Aspect

Outside of my hometown team, the New Orleans Saints, and my alma mater, the UNT Mean Green, I could care less about football. Now, if you add in some friends, food and drinks, I can tolerate a weekend of watching game, after game…..after game.

The turkey, the oyster dressing, the chitlins (chitterlings), the greens, the rolls, the SWEET POTATO PIE! Need I say more?
