Summer, Summer, Summertime: 4 Best Pools to Take a Dip in Dallas

It’s summertime in the Big D! Time to show off those washboard abs that you sacrificed carbs for and ran laps-on laps-on laps around White Rock Lake for months in order to obtain. While Dallas has become home to many public party pools, the spots that aren’t flooded with 30 Thousand Dollar Millionaires are a little harder to find. Never fear, #deliveredbydev has yet again done the hard work for you, and narrowed down the top spots where you can enjoy fun in the sun with the least amount of douche-ness blocking your rays.

1. Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.)

Fraternal Order of EaglesThis 60s-inspired, hipster-esque Olympic-sized public pool, bordered with two volleyball courts, two adult bars and a concession stand, is reminiscent of everyone’s favorite childhood movie, The Sandlot. Your $7 entry fee supports 15 different charities and grants you access to the aforementioned amenities. From noon to midnight (1 a.m. on Saturdays), celebrate the weekend, host a vintage pool party or put a spin on your typical Sunday Funday at this Lakewood watering hole.

2. Hotel Lumen

Hotel Lumen PoolSpeaking of Sunday Funday, for $8 on Sundays, you can lie back on a lounge chair or in a cabana for “Lumen Family Fun Days of Summer.” Hotel Lumen, situated across form SMU in University Park, definitely gives you the most bang for your buck with valet parking, water, lemonade and snacks, all included with your entry fee. From 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., The Front Room: A Park Cities Diner provides poolside specialties like poolside burgers and fish tacos with cilantro queso fresco…YUM!

3. WET Deck-W Hotel

Wet Deck-W Hotel

Travel “to infinity and beyond” in the infinity pool on the 16th floor of the W Hotel, while taking in the mesmerizing Downtown Dallas panoramic view. This is a perfect mid-week getaway as WET Deck is only open to the public on Wednesdays for “Wine Down Wednesdays.” From 6 p.m. to 10 p.m, enjoy half-off vino and live jazz music from Grammy-nominated Russ Hewitt, sure to put you in a state of bliss. If you can’t make it in the middle of the week, lookout for select summer celebrations happening throughout the season.

4. SALT (Formerly Ku De Ta)

Alright, alright alright; if you INSIST on seeing and being seen, at least do so on the East Dallas side of the tracks. On Saturdays and Sundays from 12 p.m to 6 p.m, you can play in SALT’s usually members-only pool as long as you’re accompanied by a current member. If that’s not an option, start mixing and mingling there on Friday nights when it’s open to the public, and hobnob with SALT management and staff, in efforts to soften them up enough to grant you a membership invitation. Trust me, after sitting under one of the white-draped cabanas with a top-shelf frozen margarita in one hand, and a summer-style pizza slice in the other, you’ll want do whatever it takes to get access into the club.

Oh, and for all the fellas that will be trying to score with the lady lifeguards, take a lesson from Squints:
What’s your favorite pool in Dallas?

    • Thanks for the support! I’m glad you enjoyed it! Now that I know you have a blog, I’ll start reading up on what suburban/domestic life is like! 🙂

FYI: Both FOE and Hotel Lumen are VERY family and kid friendly!

  1. Ku De Ta is apparently called SALT now?
Other than that, this list is SOLID.
The Hilton Anatole is good too. They sell a membership to their pool. Like WTF. #Bourgie
